March brought some wonderful sunny days for the toddlers to get outside and enjoy the warmth of the sun! We had plenty of rain as well, so puddle jumping and mud stomping continued to be a favorite on the playground. The toddlers enjoyed celebrating the first day of Spring by arranging bouquets of flowers to decorate the classroom. The toddlers filled a pitcher up of water, poured the water into funnels, and gently arranged the flowers into beautiful vases.
The first week of April is Spring break here at MCH. A wonderful time to get some family time in! As we come back from break we will continue to work on practical life skills. The toddlers will have the opportunity to scrub tables and chairs and wash windows outside. Being outside and completing these activities can further build concentration. When we return from break we will also begin working on some food prep work. The toddlers will work on slicing bananas, spreading jam on crackers, and using a small grinder to grind up food.

It was wonderful to see the older toddlers so proud of their finished product. We also spent time talking about being gentle with our friends, animals, and the environment. February also brought several days of snow! The toddlers enjoyed using the sand toys to scoop, rake and build with the snow on the playground.
In March, we will focus on Spring and the changes in our environment. Hopefully, we will begin to see some signs of spring soon! The toddlers love taking walks to see the new flowers, insects and birds around our amazing campus. We will also bring some "Spring" into our classroom by bringing in the flower arranging work again. This is always a favorite activity in the toddler class. We will also bring in new spring themed items for our sensory tub, spring stickers, and a flower matching work. Our new light table came at the end of January. This has been a favorite work this month! The toddlers have enjoyed working together to sort colored discs and shapes on top of the light table. In January, the toddlers also spent time working on identifying the difference between small, medium and large objects. Blocks, copper cups and shells were brought in to help the children understand these differences in size.
In February, we will be celebrating Valentines Day the toddler way! The toddlers will be making a Friendship fruit salad. The cold weather brought many opportunities for the toddlers to work on practical life skills such as putting on multiple layers and gloves!
We will be getting a few new friends in Fucsia this month. This is always such an exciting time for toddlers! This is a great time for toddlers to work on language skills, as they learn the names of their new friends. The older toddlers are working on building confidence as they show the new children around the classroom. We will be adding a light table to our classroom, some new gluing works as well as working on concepts of small, medium and large. November was a wonderful month in the Fucsia class! They love shaking the boxes and then looking to see if they have the same amount of objects inside. December brought some snow flurries and cold weather! Fucsia toddlers really enjoyed the month of October! They were very busy with all of the new Fall works. The toddlers enjoyed the visit from the firemen! What a great opportunity for them to meet the firemen and see all of their equipment. The weather in October gave us plenty of opportunities to work on bundling up! We enjoyed the beautiful crisp mornings outside, as well as our time spent looking at all the different colors and shapes of the leaves on the ground. Raking the leaves into a big pile and jumping into them was a favorite playground activity! Inside our classroom we have all adjusted to our daily routines, and lots of smiles and laughter can be seen.

We have been painting with the color orange, using a paint brush and glue to glue leaves and pumpkins onto paper and transferring bats from one container to another with tongs. Later this month we will open up one of our pumpkins giving us the opportunity to scoop, smell, and feel the gooey insides.
