The change in weather from sunshine to rainy days brought many opportunities for the toddlers to work on their self-help skills. Specifically with the changing of shoes and coats to boots and raincoats.
It was great to see all the families at Ferrel McWhirter Park for our first toddler community event! The toddlers enjoyed exploring and seeing the animals with their classmates.
As we move into October we will be spending time talking about the change in weather, change of our outdoor environment, and the need for winter clothes.
We will also focus on some harvest time activities that include feeling and sorting different types of pumpkins and gourds, painting pumpkins, pumpkin scrubbing and even opening up one of our pumpkins during circle.
The toddlers love scooping, smelling and feeling the gooey insides! October also brings some exciting events to our toddler community. We will have a visit from local firemen, a story teller, as well as a school wide Harvest Festival! This festival is another great opportunity for our community to get together.
