COVID Quarantine and Isolation Policy At-a-Glance (updated May 31, 2022)
In the event of a positive covid case in a classroom
- All students in the classroom of the exposed individual may return to campus on the next day other than the individual who has tested positive.
- We will continue to notify exposed classrooms and the community as we have been via email, and encourage families to closely monitor for symptoms; should a child develop symptoms, we ask that families immediately test and keep their children home until symptoms have improved.
- For all students in the classroom, we are asking that families have their children tested immediately as well as provide another negative test between 5-7 days after being notified of their child’s exposure.
- Additionally, siblings of exposed individuals will not be required to test.
- We will provide testing resources to families that ask as long as the state continues to provide them to private schools.
What if my child develops symptoms during the school day?
we will need you to pick your child up immediately and the following will be required prior to their return to campus:
- Students will need to take a rapid test as soon as possible, which the school can provide if requested and resources are available.
- Students may return to school with a negative test result and symptoms must have improved significantly or children must be asymptomatic.
- Students should be fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medications.
- If symptoms worsen after the initial negative test, children will be sent home immediately and symptoms must improve and another Covid test will be required prior to their ability to return.
What if My child has a covid exposure outside of the classroom?
Your child will not need to quarantine, but we ask that you notify us immediately. They will need a negative Covid test between days 5-7 of last known date of exposure if it was a one time exposure.
Household exposures (considered an ongoing exposure) will require that the exposed individual test daily for a minimum of 10 days in order to return to school. Please notify us immediately and we can provide you with more detail.

What is the policy on masks?
Regardless of vaccination status, children will no longer be required to wear masks outdoors in all programs.
For our Lower School classrooms (Infant/Toddler and Early Childhood) we are continuing to require masking indoors but not outdoors.
If a student/tests positive for Covid, they may return to campus after 5 days of isolation IF they test negative for Covid AND they wear a mask for the remainder of their 5 days (modified quarantine). If they cannot meet BOTH of these requirements, they will be required to isolate for the full 10 days. Students under the age of 2, who cannot wear masks, will be required to isolate for the full 10 days if they test positive for Covid.
For our Upper School classrooms (Elementary and Middle School) as of April 18th we will no longer requiring masking anywhere on campus. Masking requirements for those returning from isolation or exposed individuals will remain the same for all students and staff. If a student/tests positive for Covid, they may return to campus after 5 days of isolation IF they test negative for Covid AND they wear a mask for the remainder of their 5 days (modified quarantine). If they cannot meet BOTH of these requirements, they will be required to isolate for the full 10 days.
Individuals who have been exposed to Covid will be required to wear masks for 10 days from exposure. We will of course, always support individual decisions to continue to mask when not required.
