Educational Leadership Team

Jennifer McConnell (She/Her), Bossy Lady
Hailing from UW, Head of School. Jennifer McConnell brings a background in business administration, sales, marketing and accounting. After earning her NAMTA Certificate in Montessori Administration, Jennifer took the helm at MCH, after Jennifer's mother and MCH founder, Linda Baker, retired. With 19 years at the school, Jennifer founded the Infant/Toddler program and the Middle School program at MCH, collaborated on the development of the Elementary program and managed several campus expansions, including Building C that now houses our Upper School classrooms along with the Infant/Toddler classrooms. Jennifer’s “nature-inspired” vision for the school was the catalyst for introducing farm animals on campus, starting a hands-on garden for students, inspired nature trails, and overseeing the construction of the amazing Upper School natural playground. Under her direction, the school has grown from four classrooms to 13, and from 84 students to over 230 students. When she's not working, Jennifer loves to garden, camp, read, and travel with her family. Both of her children are alumni of the school.

Angela Spayde (She/Her), Associate Bossy Lady That Likes Handstands
Before landing at MCH in 2014, Angela worked at independent schools throughout the country that served students with language-based learning differences. From teaching art in South Carolina, working in development and administration in Vermont, to teaching 4th grade in Massachusetts, Angela learned repeatedly that our gifts as individuals come in many different forms and can be nourished through creative approaches to education. The Montessori philosophy and the MCH culture spoke to her for this very reason. At MCH, students are invited on a journey of self-discovery where they learn about who they are by discovering what they love; simultaneously learning to care for the people and world around them. They learn about what it means to be in community with one another and how to advocate for themselves and others. She is passionate about co-creating an environment where our students, families, staff and faculty all feel connected, seen, and heard; an environment that seeks to continually adapt and be better while honoring the individuals within it. Angela holds a BA in Art History and Studio Art from Santa Clara University and an M.Ed in Integrative Education from Endicott College. She is a certified Orton-Gillingham instructor, and is certified in Positive Discipline at the Early Childhood, Elementary, and Parent levels. Outside of the classroom, Angela loves to do yoga, make art, hike, garden, cook and explore any creative or mindful endeavor with her husband and two children- who are all a part of the MCH community.

Reilly Chamberlin (She/Her), Squishmellow Epert
Reilly holds her Bachelor's in professional and creative writing from Central Washington University and has completed her Montessori Assistant Training through the Montessori Institute of the Pacific Northwest. Throughout high school, Reilly spent 3 years volunteering at Mountain View Montessori in California. Witnessing the children exploring nature and growing into independent beings while they’re still young is one of the things she loves about MCH. She says they’re constantly questioning how and why the world works the way it does and growing their knowledge every day. She grew up in Southern California and moved to Washington in 2017 after she fell in love with the nature on a trip. In her free time, she reads books (mostly fantasy and science fiction), spends time with her sister and her cats (Chubby and Meow), watches tv shows (like chopped and doctor who), creates pottery, and spends time connecting with friends outdoors.
