GeekGirlCon is an organization that empowers women and girls to pursue their passions—whether they love science and technology, comics, literature, gaming, “or anything else!” according to their website. “Everybody is a geek at heart, in one way or another,” convention organizers said. There’s a natural part of parenting where we want to do everything for our kids; and when I say everything I mean everything. We figure they’re going to have to make their own bed when they go away to college so we might as well do it for them now.
