Accreditation
Why AMS Accreditation Matters
AMS Accreditation is the gold standard for Montessori schools. It holds us accountable to rigorous standards of excellence in areas such as Montessori fidelity, governance, curriculum, learner outcomes, teacher preparation, safety, and overall school operations.
The process is thorough and multi-year, requiring schools to engage in deep self-study, collect extensive evidence, and host an on-site visiting team. It is both intensive and reflective, designed not only to evaluate but also to strengthen and grow the school.
Being accredited by the American Montessori Society signals to families and the wider community that our school is committed to the highest levels of Montessori education and continuous improvement.
MCH is also Accredited by the National Counsel for Private School Accreditation (NCPSA).
What It Takes to Attain AMS Accreditation
Self-Study: Conduct a multi-year, school-wide reflection on every aspect of our programs and operations.
Committee Work: Form committees to examine standards, learner outcomes, educational practices, and school profile.
Evidence Collection: Gather policies, procedures, student outcomes, and examples of Montessori in practice.
Standards Alignment: Demonstrate compliance with rigorous AMS standards in governance, curriculum, teacher preparation, and safety.
Visiting Team Review: Host an on-site evaluation by trained AMS peer reviewers.
Continuous Improvement Plan: Respond to feedback and commit to ongoing growth and accountability.
