Diana Caramat
(they/them)
Art Specialist
Diana joins us with a dual B.F.A. from VCUarts at Virginia Commonwealth University and an M.F.A. from Cranbrook Academy of Art. As an art educator, Diana has worked with many different age ranges including toddler, early childhood, elementary, middle school, high school, college, adult, and elderly students through schools, museums, and private lessons. In addition to teaching and curriculum design, they’ve spent time building public engagement projects to create family-friendly outdoor creative environments locally. With more than a decade of experience teaching, developing art curriculums, and designing programs for the public, they love watching students learn and grow in their creative abilities. To Diana “it feels like a privilege to tune into a growing person’s art and see their inner lives.” Born in the Philippines and raised in Virginia, they love spending time outside with family and friends in the Pacific Northwest environment, especially hiking forests with lush mosses and ferns, camping, and going fishing in alpine lakes. When traveling, they are always sure to bring a portable art project to keep their hands busy and their mind clear!
