This past month we spent a lot of time talking about turkeys. We learned what they said, how they flap their wings and scratch their feet on the ground with the help of a song about turkeys. We also read books about turkeys. This Little Turkey by Aly Fronis and Five Silly Turkeys by Salina Yoon were two very popular stories in our room.
The infants have been very interested in using different put 'n take works. These are works where they can put items into a container, take them out and then repeat the process as many times as they want. Our younger friends occasionally need a bit more help depending on the container, but are usually more than willing to try to get the items out on their own. Favorite items have been clothes pins that go into a large water jug, small apples into a can and colored bracelets into a felt bag. All of these works make different sounds when they are dropped in, which also helps highlight their appeal. At the end of the month, we said goodbye to William and Luna as they moved up to their new toddler classrooms. We also welcomed two new friends to Ambarino, Reyansh and Zoë. It has been wonderful to get to know them and we are excited to have new friends join us. Next month we will be spending a lot of time talking about the colors red and green and using different put 'n take works that use items with those colors. We are also going to work on a festive holiday gift.
