The toddlers of Celeste greatly enjoyed working on their art projects for their Moms during the month of May. They chose colors to use, painted the inside of a mason jar, helped cut foam, and put together a lovely Mother's Day mason jar vase with a beautiful flower. Seeing the excitement on the toddler's faces to be able to give something to their moms was really priceless. The older toddlers especially enjoy being able to do for others even at this young age. The month of May also brought the exploration of some new works. These included counting different items in groups of 1 versus 2, using a heart shaped hole punch on card stock, and classifying animals by their sizes of small, medium, and large. These were all new favorite works shared by many of the children. May did not let us down with more wonderful weather and sunshine to explore the outdoors. The nature trail got a lot of use by the toddlers, and they enjoyed exploring around the trees and feeding the goats. May was a great month for the toddlers of Celeste.
June is already coming upon us more quickly than expected. It means wrapping up the school year, and seeing many of our friends transition onto early childhood classrooms for the summertime. We will definitely cherish the remaining time that we have with them, and enjoy working and playing with them. It is always so hard to say goodbye to these children who have made Celeste their home away from home. These children are prepared and ready to explore new environments and activities, and will do great in their new classrooms. It will be exciting to see them around campus during summer and the next school year, as we will get to wave to them and say hello! The end of the school year will finish up with an end of the year carnival and a toddler field day! Both of which will be sure to bring smiles to all the toddler's faces. I hope that everyone has a wonderful summer, and I'm looking forward to some great summer camp activities. We will also get the chance to meet some new friends, and welcome them into our classroom! Thanks for a really great school year!
