Dear Parents,
The beginning of our year is off to a good start. I am enjoying getting to know all of the new students in our class, reconnecting with the returning students and watching as everyone gets to know each other and the classroom. This month we are focusing on Grace and Courtesy in the classroom: how to walk in the classroom, the volume of our voices, walking around a mat, etc. We will also focus on identifying our emotions and how to use them in problem solving with our classmates. Finally we will discuss our place in the universe: from the solar system our planet is in to the city our school is found in.
On the 16th we will be having a Back-to-School barbeque with the Recess Monkeys performing for the students. Later this month on the 24th we will be having a fall potluck in Redmond. I hope everyone will be able to make it to both events.
In October we will be having our fall conferences and later this month I will put the sign-up sheet on Bloomz so you can sign up. I look forward to seeing everyone at the conferences. We will discuss how your child is settling in and any goals that you and I have for them for the rest of the year.
Please remember to label anything your child brings to school: extra clothes, lunch box, coats, etc. That way if your child misplaces something we can get it back to you.
