It was a great start to the new school year as we welcomed Eloise and Zoe into the Infant Classroom. Both girls added energy, noise, and happiness to our environment!! We spent the month of September learning about each other as we watched each other’s every move, touched each other’s faces, and ate each other’s "puffs". Becoming familiar to a new "routine" and developing "trust" in one another has been the key to opening the door to a harmonious and happy environment. The classroom is a place of warmth and smiles.
In October, Zoe moved to the La Casa Toddler Classroom. We are fortunate to see and interact with her daily because she is right next door. She enjoys hugs from us all! I have added pumpkins, gourds, Halloween books and various Jack-O-Lantern objects to the classroom. We talk about “big” and “little” pumpkins, “smooth” and “bumpy” gourds, face parts of the Jack- O-Lanterns, and the color “orange”. The infants like to place bracelets on the stem of the “big” pumpkin. At circle time, we sing about ten little pumpkins on Halloween night. The infants are thoroughly enjoying themselves as they explore all the new seasonal materials! We are always looking out the window and going outside daily to experience the outdoors. We listen to the rain drop, smell the freshness of nature, feel the breeze on our skin, and see the leaves on the trees changing colors. There is so, so much to learn as we absorb information through our senses!! We love to go outdoors!!
