The month of October was an exciting time for our five senses in the La Casa classroom! We touched bumpy gourds and the slimy insides of pumpkins. We started cooking such things as cucumber soup and egg salad sandwiches, which allowed us to taste and smell new things. Leaves started falling all around the playground, and we watched them float down from the trees above. Ms. Amy also gave us the opportunity to hear new songs about pumpkins and the season of Fall.
Now that November is here we will continue to work on our cooking and practical life skills of scooping, spreading, cutting, and stirring. This means tasty recipes of crunchy granola, raspberry swirl, and a mango-honey drink. Flower arranging will also adorn our classroom, as well as a sensory table filled with new and exciting things for our hands to explore.
