The beginning of the school year has brought some new friends into La Casa. We have enjoyed learning all of the new friends' names through songs at circle time, as well as through helping them learn the routine of the day. It has been wonderful to see all of the new smiles and laughter that they have brought with them. The month of September also afforded us the opportunity for some final summer days, which meant lots of sunshine and outside time for riding bikes and having picnics.
As we move into the month of October we are beginning to focus on the change in weather, as well as the sights around our playground. This means doing glue works that involve putting different colored leaves on trees, as well as painting with fun Fall colors. Pumpkins and gourds can also be seen in the classroom, which means lots of scrubbing and washing opportunities. Later in the month we will open the pumpkin up and work on scooping the insides out. The fall promises to bring lots of great discussions to La Casa about weather, colors, and vegetables.
