I hope you are having a sunny weekend! We have a great time this past week being able to do many lessons outside in the sunshine. Congratulations to Ms. Nicole, the 3rd graders and the upper elementary for an amazing Renaissance feast on Friday.
We have two weeks left of school! This coming week we will stick with our normal routines. We will continue to have regular lessons in math, language, science and Lego robotics. Students will also be going through their cubbies and building a portfolio of this past year. The portfolio will contain some of their best and favorite lessons, follow-ups, or anything else they made this year they want to highlight. The portfolios will go home the last week of school with everything else in their lockers. The final week will be sticking with our regular daily schedule while focusing on community wrap-up work, cleaning/organizing the classroom and bringing closure to this school year. It's important for children to participate in these closing activities. Everyone will be bringing extra clothes, boots, indoor shoes, and other supplies home by Wednesday, June 17th. With all that out of the way, the students will be able to really relax and enjoy the final 2 days of school. On Thursday, June 18th will be our elementary “Spirit” day. Students are allowed to wear crazy hair and bring board games on that day. We will also be having an afternoon Talent Show! Upper Elementary students are making a presentation to the Morado students about this event and will be providing a flyer with details. Friday, June 19th we will have our field day! We have planned several fun activities - including dance party, piñata, crafts and more - for the students to celebrate the last day of school. We definitely need parent volunteers to help us out! Let us know if you can join us. Dismissal that day will be from 12:45 to 1:00. Extended day students will go to aftercare at 12:45. We have several students moving on to other schools next September and we'll be hosting good-bye circles for them in the next two weeks. Please join us at MCH on Saturday, June 13th at 10:00 for our annual End of the Year Party and the Parent Association-sponsored carnival! Have a good day, Ben Abel
