Hope you all had a wonderful Halloween!
It's great to see the Rojo children appreciating each other and their environment by demonstrating grace and courtesy which contribute to build a strong and peaceful community. Children are as busy as a bee! In October we discussed and learned about expressing emotions appropriately using words. Children are learning and practicing through different situations in class every day, experiencing how effective it is to express our feelings through words and it always works! We also practiced at circle time to make different facial expressions like happy, sad, mad and surprised faces, this helped us learn how to read body languages while having lot of fun. We also explored our 5 senses - sense of sight, sense of sound, sense of taste , sense of touch and sense of smell. They learned and discovered how we see things, hear things, taste things, smell things and feel things. Children also explored and learned about their inner and outer body parts and their functions. Steff (Tsion's mom) has recorded all the children's stories about 5 senses. Being one of the transcribers this year she is collecting your child's stories to put together in a "story book" format which will enable us to see the progression of their thought process and story building. Thank you Steff we really appreciate your time towards the children. I am sure you enjoyed seeing your child's "self portraits" and the"All about me". Again thanks to Cynthia for working with children on that. We wrapped up this month with carving a pumpkin into a jack-o-lantern and experienced the joy of Halloween! This month in November we are learning and exploring the Solar System, the Milky Way Galaxy, meteorites, asteroids and the planet Earth and the layers of Earth. Looking forward to sharing with you the experience of our learning all about the outer space galaxy! Also student-led -conference starting this month and children can't wait to show their works to you!
