October brought along strong friendships and team work. Children were comfortable around each other and had a better understanding of the class routine. That also meant longer attention spans and complete work cycles. Our kindergartners got their homework and, you guessed it, right they were super excited! October was a month of exploration and adventure. We discussed different types of spiders and all aspects regarding this arachnid. Our first food project was making spiders out of crackers and pretzel sticks. It was a great way to kick off our unit study. Making spiders out of toilet paper rolls and pipe cleaners were a huge hit as well. We discussed different types of leaves and what they are called. Art projects were all around us in October. Our favorite song of the month was "Little Ghost" with a puppet to go along with it, and our favorite book was "The little old lady who was not afraid of anything". The school hosted the Harvest Festival and it was super fun.
In November we will go on an adventure to all our neighboring countries and study the continent of North America. Children will get a chance to see different animals, flags, currency and national games and places around this continent.
