I hope everyone had a great 4 day weekend. For a short week last week, we defiantly got a lot done. First off, Ms. Carol had her last day and goodbye circle on Tuesday. She gave each student a book as a thank you for her time at MCH. Khavitha, Nicole, Angela, Robin, and I have been working very hard to make the transition for the students as comfortable as possible. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know. On Ms. Carol’s last day, we also had a blast at the Seattle Storm game. Storm won!
Although we are done with Passion Projects we are still very busy the last few weeks of the year with lessons and assignments. This week, students have been working on their weekly math lessons and getting assessments from myself and Khavitha. Also, we focused on some new sciences this week. With the really sunny days this week, students learned about the different types of clouds in the sky and the characteristics to identifying them. Which will go really well with this week's lesson on the water cycle. We had our second Lego Robotics lesson designing a car and building one that can go the longest distance.
In geography, we have been talking a lot about different flags from around the world and what they represent. We have been doing a very fun lesson where we color the different flags of Europe and finding their country on the map. We will be continuing to look at different flags of Europe and the parts of a flag in the upcoming weeks. We will also be doing lessons about pronouns and challenging the students' ability to use different types of punctuation.
Don’t forget that our school End of the Year party is on Saturday, June 13th at 10 AM. We will be having a celebration of the 10th anniversary of the elementary at MCH. Also, there will be the Kindergarten and 6th grade graduation. It is going to be a great time so try and make it if you can.
Finally, if you have not accepted my invitation this week to Bloomz, now is the time to try it out. Bloomz is an apps and website for educations to stay in more contact with parents and the community. Parents can also get to know each other through it as well. I have added a bunch of photos from this year and more info on some of school’s previous events. Please let me know if you have any issues with it.
Have a good day,
