Let me start with a tremendous thank you to our students and families for the overwhelming amount of gifts, cards, and love we have all gotten this Teacher Appreciation week. Thanks to everyone for making last week incredible.
This past week, students have been very busy starting their poster boards for Passion Projects, they are starting to look great and students are excited to show them off. Because of their hard work, we decided to hold off on homework this weekend and give out a small homework packet this Monday, May 12th and have it due later in the week. Next week will be the final full week for the students to work on their projects so it is going to be another busy one. If you haven’t gotten an Evite to the Passion Projects reception on Thursday, May 22, please let us know. It will be from 6pm-8pm and will be in the new building. Also last week, we had two parent volunteers give lessons to the class. Mr. Jason (Aubrey’s Dad) returned after his last fun science experiment and talked to students about the water cycle and built “tornados in jars” with them. We also had Ms Karolina (Iza’s Mom) make 4 different and delicious salads with the students. Thanks to both Jason and Karolina for their help, the students had such a great time. Next Tuesday, May 13, we will have another parent volunteer join us to talk about art appreciation. Ms. Savita (Arjun’s Mom) will be showing students different art pieces and have them discuss what they think and feel about them. We have a lot of artists in the class and we are very excited to get a more well-rounded understanding of the power of art. We are also planning our field trip on Thursday, May 22 to the Arboretum; we still need some more drivers so let us know if you are interested. One last thing, if you haven’t ordered a Scholastic workbook for this summer and are interested in getting one or have any questions, please let us know as soon as possible. Have a Happy Mother’s Day, Jessie & Ben
