Thank you all for making it to Friday’s Family Night. It was a blast getting to talk to everyone and the food was delicious. I am always impressed by our turnout. This was our first time having our Family Night in the building and I seemed we can fit a lot of people in it. Also, thanks to all who supported the Upper El Bake Sale, I heard they raised more than enough money for their new class pets.
This past week was very eventful; we had a great time with the Kindergartners and Upper El getting to see Dick Whittington at Seattle Children’s Theater. Thanks to all the parent volunteers who got to go with us. Along with daily math lessons, we also had lessons on the different seasons and more about different angles and shapes in geometry. We have also started a new “Peace Circle” curriculum that we are calling Talkabout. Carol and I take a group of students, and we get to play games and discuss different feelings and emotions and the causes and solutions for them. Next week we will be open for only Monday and Tuesday. We will still be doing our normal lessons and specialists this week. We will also be making stone soup and eating with the Upper Elementary as one big community to celebrate Thanksgiving week. During the week, the 3rd graders will be helping the Upper Elementary make posters for our Adopt-A-Family program we will be doing in December. Have a great weekend, Ben & Carol
