Hi Folks!
It was a bustling week in Morado with students working on their ocean projects, learning about compound words, and doing more work with geometric solids. We finished our lessons on communication in Choices this week, and has a lot of fun learning about posture as nonverbal communication. Students really know what it means now when I say, "Sit up straight and look ready!" Next week, we'll begin looking more closely at decision-making. In PE, students have begun twice-monthly hikes up the hill to work on endurance, stamina and learning more about muscle tone. We've been doing lots of cooking with parent volunteer Karolina and will be making pumpkin soup and banana ice cream. *We will need bananas for this. Please send your child to school with a banana or two next week if you can! Following our Intro to Chemistry coming up the next two weeks, we will have Jason, Aubrey's dad, here on the 25th to explore cooking and chemistry using liquid nitrogren. Students are so excited for this project! Our kitten, Squeakers, continues to thrive in our care. He reached the half pound mark this week and we're thrilled to be a part of his growth. He is learning how to purr. Please remember we have no school next Friday and will have our goal-setting conferences with teachers, parents and students. We are really looking forward to this opportunity to hear from your child about what he or she is excited to learn about this year. Peace, Ms. Jessie and Mr. Ben
