Our new light table came at the end of January. This has been a favorite work this month! The toddlers have enjoyed working together to sort colored discs and shapes on top of the light table. In January, the toddlers also spent time working on identifying the difference between small, medium and large objects. Blocks, copper cups and shells were brought in to help the children understand these differences in size.
In February, we will be celebrating Valentines Day the toddler way! The toddlers will be making a Friendship fruit salad. They will be busy chopping, peeling, and mixing fruit to serve each other a wonderful fruit salad. There will be several different Valentine themed works available in the classroom this month. The toddlers will be working on heart matching, peeling heart shaped stickers and pouring pink water into vases. This month we will also be focusing on friendships and respecting each other and their spaces.
