The month of January saw the children returning from the holidays happy to renew their friendships and eager to try new challenges.
We studied the earth, and made models of the layers of the earth. We learned what causes earthquakes, and learned about the parts of volcanoes. The children learned the word “dormant” in describing the volcanoes in our state! We enjoyed a presentation from Adib’s mom, Ms. Mahtab, on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and why he is so special to their family. We also introduced “love lights”: an outward sign of the pride or joy that a child might feel during their day. In February, in addition to celebrating Valentine’s Day, we will be studying the polar regions of the planet.
