The month of April was quite busy! We explored our zoology section and focused on the bird. We studied the parts of the bird as well as different types of birds from the rain forest. We also celebrated Earth Day with a wonderful music concert and had our yearly hop-a-thon. We began to work on our Mother's Day presents; the kids had a great time working with dad volunteers on a sewing project. Art was quite popular as well. The children began to explore different painting techniques, and our easel was always in use!
In the month of May, we will be moving away from our rain forest theme to learn about safety. Topics of discussion will include safety in the classroom, in the playground and in public places. We will also talk about what to do if a stranger approaches us. Lastly we will talk about important personal information that we should know in case of an emergency.
