February was quite a busy month! We discussed the topic of seasons, and the children enjoyed sharing their thoughts on how seasons and climate change throughout the year. We took a look at how winter feels and what it looks like as well. The children constantly talked about their hopes to have a snow day, and they all agreed snow is the best part of winter. We also talked about the fact that some parts of the world (such as the rainforest) do not experience winter like we do. Even here in the United States, some states are feeling very much like summer. They couldn't believe this can happen! We also looked back at fall and reminisced on what that looked and felt like. The children concluded that having multicolored leaves is the best part of fall (well, that and making a pile of them and then jumping right in!). We have also begun an official countdown to welcome the season of Spring; we can't wait! I also want to take this time to give a big thanks to all the parents who have volunteered in and out of the classroom; we certainly appreciate all you do! In the month of March we will be taking a trip back to the rainforest to learn about the people who live and thrive there.
