The month of November was filled with excitement. The children were introduced to the concept of landforms through cultural studies materials, books and the use of technology. This was all in preparation for our next unit on volcanoes.
Practical life and art were filled with Thanksgiving and fall themed materials. The children enjoyed tweezing pumpkin seeds, scooping fall leaves, lacing turkey and pumpkin cards, painting a turkey and creating their own turkey with art materials. We also discussed the meaning of Thanksgiving and had a group celebration. I documented what the children were thankful for and everyone sat together to have lunch family style. They talked, laughed and enjoyed listening to jazz (A Boy Named Charlie Brown by Vince Guaraldi Trio). This was certainly a lovely way to head off to a much anticipated 5 day vacation.
