The month of March began in Amarillo with a celebration of our hundredth day of school. The children did an art activity and we counted to one hundred in several ways. During the busy month, we enjoyed a study of dinosaurs, a look at St. Patrick’s Day thanks to Niamh’s parents, and the Montessori Celebration, for which the children prepared a song called Five Days Old.
When spring finally arrived, we looked around for signs of it. Spring has arrived a little late this year, but we have been observing the temperatures rising gradually and flowers beginning to appear around our campus. Through April, please remember that weather can change quickly here in the Pacific Northwest; please be sure to send your child with a hooded jacket that is water resistant each day. As in the fall, layers are always a good idea when your child is dressing in the morning. In April we will celebrate Easter and take a look at ocean creatures.
