In the month of January we explored the topic of volcanoes. Children learned the parts of the volcano as well as how they erupt! The children enjoyed exploring these concepts through three part cards, picture matching, short videos, songs and books. We also continued to explore past concepts such as parts of the tree, life cycle of the tree and land forms - all of which are a part of our year long project on the rain forest. Our unit concluded with a fun volcano experiment. The children became little scientists as they mixed baking soda and vinegar to make their own volcano eruption.
