Happy New Year! I hope you all enjoyed the holiday vacation. In the month of December the children had a fabulous time learning about the different holidays that people celebrate around this time of the year. We read many books and sang new songs. During lunchtime the children enjoyed listening to the classical songs of The Nutcracker; there was a lot of holiday cheer to go around!
We also took some time to begin learning about volcanoes. The children took turns telling me what they think a volcano is. We took a look at some pictures of resting volcanoes and erupting volcanoes and we also looked at the definition of lava, magma and ash. We will continue exploring this topic in January.
