The month of May started with child-led visits which the children conducted beautifully, and ended with a celebration of our kindergarteners at tea. In between, we have enjoyed a virtual trip to Nagaland, a region of India, with Ms. Sunanda, and a look at insects as well. It has been a busy, productive time!
We brought caterpillars and ladybug larvae into the class and watched with interest as both species went into their pupa phase. When our insects emerged as butterflies and adult ladybugs, we released them on a sunny day. We enjoyed a visit from a dump truck and a digger, and continued to enjoy our lessons in art, gardening, music, and Spanish. As we move into our last month of school, we will continue to enjoy our look at insects and take more time, as weather permits, to visit the nature trail and be outdoors.
